Manage remote WordPress maintenance from one dashboard with update policies, audits, safety rollback, and manual PDF reports.

== Description ==

Prodiseum – Remote Maintenance Agent Manager helps agencies, freelancers and site owners maintain multiple WordPress installations from one central dashboard.

Install this Manager on your management WordPress site and install the separate companion Remote Maintenance Agent on each WordPress site you manage. The Agent runs on the remote site, not alongside the Manager. The Manager communicates directly with sites you explicitly connect and does not impose an artificial site or update quota.

= Companion Agent required =

Remote maintenance requires the separate **Prodiseum Remote Maintenance Agent** on every managed site. The Agent is installed on the remote client site while this Manager remains on the agency or maintenance dashboard site.

Because they run on different WordPress installations, the Agent is intentionally **not** declared with the WordPress `Requires Plugins` header. Declaring it as a normal dependency would incorrectly require the Agent on the same installation as the Manager.

This Manager does not automatically download or install executable code from Prodiseum servers. Setup instructions are available at https://prodiseum.com/praesidium

== Remote communication and external services ==

This plugin communicates only with WordPress sites that an administrator explicitly connects by URL and connection secret.

The companion Remote Maintenance Agent receives authenticated maintenance requests, returns WordPress/PHP/update status, and performs the update or verification actions requested by the Manager. Requests are signed with HMAC-SHA256 using the site-specific secret. The secret itself is not sent with normal maintenance requests.

No Prodiseum cloud service is required for Manager-to-Agent communication. The connected site URL is chosen and controlled by the administrator.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate this plugin on the WordPress installation used as your maintenance dashboard.
2. On each remote client site, separately install and activate Prodiseum Remote Maintenance Agent.
3. Open the Agent on the client site, copy its Connection Secret, then return to the Manager and add that site.
4. Configure update policies for the site.
5. Run maintenance manually from the central dashboard.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Is the FREE version limited to a fixed number of sites or updates? =

No. FREE does not use artificial usage quotas. Feature differences between FREE and Praesidium PRO are based on automation and agency workflow capabilities.

= Does the Manager bypass premium plugin licenses? =

No. Remote updates use WordPress update data on the managed site. A commercial plugin must still provide an available update package according to its own licensing system.

= Does this plugin require a Prodiseum account? =

No. The FREE plugin does not require license activation, telemetry, or a Prodiseum account.
